I pulled these out to get some off-season cuts at the cages.
Does anyone remember these?

I dont remember those bats, but other than the fear of breaking them I wonder why you decided to use metal instead of Wood in the cages. I always found the yellow dimple balls to be to have a satisfying sound and feel with an ash, maple, or Birch bat. Even more so that a regular baseball.

I agree, i just happen to have these, and I only have 2 wood bats left and I'm a little rusty

I definitely remember those! I remember that the easton black magic was a really big deal back in the late 80's and early 90's. I remember the composite bats coming out while i was in college in the 90's......

Thanks for posting the pics - they bring back great memories!

Ahh the Black Magic line of bats, when gap hitters thought they could take pitchers deep.
Up until a couple of years ago, one of the leagues I played baseball in was a "renegade" league where you could swing pretty much anything. There were guys with -5Z2Ks, C-Cores, Z Cores, BESRs, BBCORs and woodies. Still have a couple of Louisville Slugger Dynasties (the blue and blue & gold), a couple of Exos (the White & the silver) and a Nike Strobe which was the cage bat. Now that the boy is done playing college ball maybe they will get some use.

What a blast from the past! I started playing baseball in 1989 (at 14!) and the Black Magic was the big one! Soon after the maroon and gold Easton came out and ruled the roost for a little while. I had the blue version with the untapered handle (looked cooler).
