I'm thinking of getting my son a custom A2000 catchers mitt.

His favorite colors are red and black.

What do you think of the design we created?

Yes he was involved. I wonder if the quality of the customs differ from the standard A2000's

The custom a2000's are better than the retail versions. The padding is high density, the leather is more consistently nice, and the fit and finish is good. I have 5 customs now by the way.

I'd be cautious of the white, especially since it's on a catchers mitt. By the end of one season it will probably be an off colored brown.

Hmm, good point. How does this look, I guess we need a vote, white binding or black.

For the customs you got, did you go with traditional or pro stiff?

my vote is on black binding. i ordered pro stiff for all of my customs.

I second the black binding, but would also keep the "W" on the wilson logo white to match the A2000 on the pinky.

Thanks for the feedback.

I agree the black binding looks better and the A2000 I actually changed to red to keep the red and black theme.

Now I just have to order it :D

Thanks for all the feedback. We made a few minor changes and dropped the white binding, which was a great suggestion especially since we live in GA and the dirt on the fields is GA red clay, stains everything. The order was placed last week and I should have it by mid October. see image below.

Will post pictures when I receive it.

Just received my son's new custom A2000 catchers mitt and I could not be more pleased.

Very impressed with the quality of the mitt and the key chain is cool too.

The glove is pretty stiff and will need a good amount of break in prior to game use.
