Hi All.

Had a fairly beat up glove given to me many years ago by my old boss as he had no use for it. Kenny Jenkins re-laced it and stitched a new label on it several years before he passed. Just broke it out as it has been stored for many years. From what I understand, its a very rare Mickey Mantle retail model only produced in 1968.

Can y'all tell me anymore about it? I see it has some value but I'm not sure how much value. Not attached to it but not anxious to get rid of it either. Just gathering some background. Any info offered is most appreciated.

Cheers!

Well, on the one hand, you've got yourself a relatively rare glove. On the other hand, it looks like its been oiled to no end...its pretty far from its original color! If this was pristine, I would guess it would be worth over $1K. But condition is everything on these. Beaten up ones have gone on eBay recently for a couple hundred bucks at best. Sorry I can't be more specific than that, but it comes down to what collector happens to be looking for one, and how much they care about the condition.

The patch looks a little too new for the rest of the glove. Did Kenny replace it?
EDIT: oops, you mentioned that the label was replaced.

For the record, this site is pretty much dead, with the majority of the posts being bots posting clickbait. Everything in the glove world happens on Instagram now. Do you have an account? If so, you can find me as @ballgloveguy if you'd like to discuss further.
