Thanks for your help on this. It is a 01 Horween. I love the glove just wish it was a little bigger.

I have a Pro-B HOH basket web from Oct. '89 made with Horween. What does the B stand for?

I also have a new PROTB24B from Feb. '10. It has a "29" after the date code. What does that mean? Also, I know the last B stands for black, but what does TB24 mean?

Thanks!

The "B" is a Rawlings pattern just like the 200, 201, 217 nowadays. Same goes for the TB24 is just the name of that trap pattern. Its a PROT(rap) in B(lack) old Griffey #24 remade in all B(lack) = PROTB24B. We have not yet figured out the 29 thing. Most likely a specific factory as we have yet to see a different number there.

In light of many recent posts inquiring about models like the PROAK2 here is a list of some common "Pro Issue" models that are popular and can only be ordered direct from Rawlings if you are a pro player or have some sort of relationship with Rawlings.

PROAK2 - Search forum to see many pictures and info regarding this flat pattern
PRO230-XXX
PROTROY25
PRORV23
PROXXDH (Dual Hinge Rawlings)
PROAR13 (same as the RV23)

It was a special designation for that series with Baseball Exp. It apparently carried over to their pro issue two tones. It has something to do with the two tone-ness. Example: PRONP2JAK

HRking is right, I had a PROS991JA 11.75 and it was only a baseballexpress exclusive, they made (2) 2-tones series, black/gray and camel/black. Good looking gloves. I sold mine on ebay after 2 seasons and it sold well, almost $200. A good collectors piece if you keep it pretty. Baseballexpress also has an exlusive black Nokona series with their logo in the palm.

I have a custom glove from dowdlesports.com. I thought it was odd when I recieved the glove but....it's almost a burgandy color but the option was dark tan. The glove is very stiff. I've had it for 5 years now and it's still rock hard on the back side. It is more soft in the pocket since I've used it. The coding is CG (no doubt for custom glove) B25F. I'm guessing that is for "brown, 12.5 inch, fastback?" I posted some photos as well. I acutally colored in the welting on the top because I was in a black welting mood that week. Stupid me.

This is the dark tan oiled color. Nothing special there. The B is just part of the old modeling "CGB-" Has nothing to do with color. The 125 is the code for the size, and the F is for Fastback as opposed to "C" for conventional.

This is a picture of my beloved glove from my last year in college - Rawlings PRO 200HC. The date code says "OEC01" - so I guess this means it was built:

1997-April-Horween Leather

I used this glove at 3rd base. Remembered when I first found it at Sports World, I really liked the 2-tone color scheme - which wasn't very common if I remember correctly. I got it, broke it in very nicely, and used it when I played infield once I joined my MSBL league in 2001. I rarely played infield, mostly LF and RF - so I let one of my teammates use it a lot. I would always clean it up and it was in GREAT shape. In 2005, one of my teammates HAD to have it. I sold it to him, but never got the money.

So I called him the other day, and asked him if he still had the glove and that I would like to have it back - (or buy it back as I told him) and he unhappily told me of it's demise - he loaned it to one of his son's teammates, who left it in the back of his truck. It got rained on and mildewed.

I told him I would still like to have a look at it and see if I can restore it, so we are meeting for lunch soon and he is going to drop it off. I wish I had NEVER given that thing up. This picture is of it just as I saw it last - in great condition and just beautifully broken in.
