Yes, this is my 3rd Carpenter Trade Glove/Mitt. Even Scott may think I'm nuts, but I think this much of his work. You can bet that when he releases a 1st base mitt, I will order one eventually (heads up, Scott).

Anyway - here are some pics....

My initial thoughts are what I expected - the mitt fits very comfortably, is incredibly light, and has new materials - illustrating how Carpenter's technology continues to improve.

Will catch some balls with it tonight and update how it comes along. Hard to put this thing down...

I put it to scale, along with my All Star CM3000SBT and it came in at 18 ounces, as the AS was 25 ounces. That's a pretty serious weight difference.

Gotta say, it is stunning and I am intrigued. However I wonder how a synthetic pocket could have the "stick factor" necessary for a good catchers mitt pocket. I have never had or have tried a Carpenter but I would like to know how this works out. Cause in my mind it could either be absolutely amazing with the the light weight, or it could be a disaster with the ball sliding around the pocket like a dry leather mitt.
Let us know when you break it in a little.

Rocket - you owe it to yourself. Get one and I promise you will have no regrets. I will keep you posted, and negative on the ball sliding out. Carpenters gloves hold the ball better, by a landslide. One of the benefits besides lightweight and stronger materials is the functionality.
