I recently had a custom glove made at a cost of $189.00. It was laced with very thin, stiff and brittle lace.
I ordered a glove from this company back in October, and while they sent me a completed glove in December, it had some glaring defects, and I returned it. I just received a replacement, and after a good week of breaking it in slowly, I took it to practice.
I don't use any solutions during a break-in. I do some light mallet work and a lot of stretching to widen the fingers and create the pocket I like.
It is a 12.75" Ichiro OF glove.
The laces are not only cutting themselves, but they are so sharp they are cutting the leather of the glove. After what I spent and the time I waited, and the proximity to the season starting and the issues I have had with the company, I want to keep it.
Has anyone else had a similar problem with another glove? I can easily get lace for $20 and relace it. That is going to really infuriate me, but I understand it may be the only way to salvage it.
Any suggestions out there?
There is a shiny patina on the sides of the laces.

Also, It has 4 finger lace in the middle of the fingers to widen the glove more. However, the laces connect the Index finger to the ring finger, not the pinky. It is effectively 3 finger lace.
Has anyone seen this configuration before?
