Is there such a thing as too many?

I know I have too many when there is no longer room on "the Great Wall" to hang one and they end up on shelves, in the closet, on my desk, in the trunk, etc.

Let's categorize collections by the number of gloves you own.

Now is this a "How many you keep on a rotating basis," or how many you have gone through period. I think I keep around 20/30 rotating, but have seen the likes of close to 100-150 at this point.

I'm a light weight. I only have two gloves in my "collection". The rest I use. Any time that I want a new one the only way that I can feasibly get it is by selling one of the others. The highest I've ever gone is probably 8, though I have purchased probably 20 over the past few years.

What you typically have on hand at any one time would be appropriate. If we went by how many we have owned over the years, I'd have to add a few more qty's. I have probably had 1,000 gloves pass through here in the past 5 years.

I have a problem...Need Help. Owner of the local baseball store asked me yesterday how many gloves I had. I told him I had about 60.....I had never counted them until today....maybe I should not have counted as I have 109 gloves with 4 more coming in the mail. WAY More than I thought. Time to sell a few......Probably will sell some in the Spring. About 20 of them are customs with my name on them so those will never be sold. I am addicted. -Matt

Hello everyone, newbie signing on. I was referred to this website by a person I bought a Wilson A2000 Pro Select from. I see by reading posts on this forum there is a lot to learn.

I am new to glove collecting, but I can already see this getting out of control. I have only been buying gloves for the past few years, mostly because I have 3 kids that play either baseball or fastpitch softball, I coach all three and play in a rec league myself. My son and I us use Wilson A2000's, my daughter's have Worth Liberty Advanced (prettier colors). I guess considering since 4 of us play and my wife also plays catch with the kids, having 20 gloves isn't to the point of illness yet, after all everyone has to have a pitcher, catcher, first base and outfield glove right? I have also given at least 10 gloves to other kids I coached over the last couple of years.

I have collected guns and knives for almost 30 years and see the same philosophy carries over to gloves, to put the baseball twist on it, there's only 3 kinds of gloves to buy, nice gloves, old gloves, or nice old gloves.

I can honestly say no....however, I do check in periodically from my laptop when time permits.

How many of you have gloves in you car to admire while you are driving? This may be more dangerous than texting while driving?

You mean like driving with the right hand on the wheel while the left hand is softly caressing the inside of a form fitting supple piece of hide ??

I have no idea why I was weaving in and out that lane, Officer :o

how about driving with no hands...left hand in the glove and right hand on the Nokona mallet trying to break in your son's new HOH or Pro Preferred so he can play with it in the next travel game?
