I was watching the Orioles-Yankees last night and noticed Miguel Gonzalez had a unique glove. The wrist strap had "Chikote" across it and a number 38 on the side with "Luis Ayala" along the thumb. I don't believe Chikote is the brand, I believe Chikote is Luis Ayala's nickname. I know Luis Ayala is a reliever for the Orioles, but have two questions.

Anyone know why Miguel Gonzalez is wearing Ayala's glove?

The second, more important, question is who makes this glove? Anyone know? My guess is it might be a Mexican made glove since both of these guys have played in the Mexican leagues.

Here are two links to see the glove:

Found a reference to a new line of gloves called "Chikote Gloves" in a Mexican Newspaper. From the article it appears the gloves will be out this winter.

"Chikote" may be a reference to "Chicote", which is Ayala´s nickname. Probably it´s his brand of gloves.

It is. The Orioles broadcasters said that he made gloves. I think the best part is that he was using his tpx.
