I'm getting ready to purchase a replacement for my current game glove but am a little hesitant. I owned the first camel 11.75" w/ black I web wing tip pro preferred from years ago .This glove was notorious for any time you had to make a tough play and catch a ball directly in the palm area the ball would want to pop out rather than stick. My glove was as broken in as it could get too, so I know that wasn't the issue.I ended up selling it because I was sick of it happening. I was curious if this same instance was happening to anyone with the newer models that have the pittards lining w/ the camel catching surface/ brown leather shell. I am currently looking at buying a used Pro Preferred PROS17IC2T or putting through an order through ballgloves.com to make me an all camel PRO 1000 H-web 12" , but don't want to spend that kind of money if it's going to end up having the same issue the previous glove had. I do prefer the pro preferred because of the light weight/ extra rigidity in the pinky / thumb . Any input is greatly appreciated.

I have the bruciato pro preferred in a 217 pattern. I am a few weeks into breaking it in and love it. I have NOT had the palm problem you were referring to. My knock on the old pro preferreds was the lining. The newer lining is much nicer.

Oh yeah, the old lining on them would get dried up and deteriorate so bad. Even if you took good care of the glove.I did try on one with a pittards lining and blew the old liner out of the water as far as quality/structure

My gamer (PRO2006K) doesn't have this problem either. I think it may be because of the new pittards lining. But I would go for the second idea you had...the PRO1000 12''. I think you'll like it. And I'm also trying to persuade you to the PRO1000 because i'm not a wing tip fan.

Yeah, the pro 1000 is the route i'm leaning towards plus , I'd prefer to get a glove brand new so I can break it in/shape it to my own preference. I am bummed that ballgloves.com is now charging $399 for a custom PP

Why not just order a made in the USA (ST. Louis Custom Shop) HOH Camel glove? In my opinion, it's better leather and Bob makes them. Here is are pics of mine ( 12 inch PRO1175C)....

I've had the pop out problem on more than one PP. I can't remember what lining my pros12mtb had, but noticed it my custom with Pittards as well. I will never have confidence with using a PP glove in a game after the problems I've had with a couple of them. My PROS12MTB was broken in, but my custom was still in the process of break in, so you be the judge if that had anything to do with it. I never have problems with pop out while breaking in any other glove though.

Hrking- I also had a PROS17IC and it's prob a better SS glove becuase it runs extremely true to size, and if you bowl the fingers in it plays more like an 11.5. The pocket is really flat also, I tried so hard to deepen the pocket but couldn't. What I did was put 1/4 lace in the web and loosened it up so if you catch it in the hand and it rolls up, the ball can travel deeper and help stay in there. Only downside is it might be harder to transfer, all depends on your preference but you should try that. Hope that helps with the next I web you get

Another reason to get an Eastbay.com Rawlings USA is that the HOH leather Bob uses to build these is LIGHTER and STRONGER, and the ones I ordered have the most rigid/stiff pinky and thumbs of any of my gloves.
