My son has a pair of Oakley Half Jacket XLJ that has scratches on the lenses. I want to get some replacement lenses but would like some opinions on which are the best for the field. Read in the sunglasses thread that polarized may mess with depth perception, anything else I should know/consider? Any recommendations?

Black Iridium is the best lens for baseball. That's what Oakley recommends anyways and they are the experts for vision.

I have the transition lenses and they are perfect for all light conditions. My glasses came with the metallic orange lenses you see a lot of MLBers use and I find those to be too dark.

Black iridium is best for bright sun, close 2nd is thr fire lens. I carry two lenses, black iridium, and slate ( a shade lighter) for over cast or sun is popping in and out of clouds. I don't use polarized they are too exprensive and if I dive and jack one up its cheaper to replace and for me harder to pick up spin with polarized.
