So I've seen a few mizunos at the store and the fingers look like they are flat, like they've been run over by a car. Are they supposed to be like that? I think its odd because they close really weird. I'm not an expert on mizuno gloves but I was wondering because I want to get a custom and I don't want the fingers to be flat. Not sure if that makes sense but I was just wondering if anybody knows why some are like that. Thanks.

Have a Chinese made pro dept. PL and a couple of Japan made PL's, and the fingers on those gloves are slightly more flat than my Rawlings gloves (but I certainly wouldn't describe them as looking like they'd been run over by a car). At least as far as their PL line, Mizuno gloves are known for being more form fitting gloves than other brands. It's kinda in line with their philosophy, of the glove being an extension of the hand.

But to be honest, if I never read this post, I would have never really noticed the flatter fingers thing.

Maybe My stores are just unlucky, but yeah, the ones I've seen are really bad. The pro limited's looked alright though.

Over the last few years the trend has been towards lighter gloves. What Mizuno has done, in part, to achieve this is to trim weight from the index, middle & ring fingers by removing a layer of leather. This is what gives them that flat fingers profile.

Unfortunately, I feel that doing this also reduces hand protection & glove life. It's why I'm not a Mizuno fan these days.
