I'll take the Amalfi if it doesn't sell.

Joe,

I'll keep that in mind. The Amalfi is my gamer - it has a medium/large barrel that is pretty long, and a thin/medium handle - yet is surprisingly balanced. Very good choice.

I just got a Bergamo as well, and I dig the bigger barrel bats they make (Potenza is sweet too). You are going to love European Beech.

Hey Joe - sorry, that Amalfi was one of the first to go. I still have a Capri, which isn't too far off from the Amalfi. It's not cupped - which I prefer, just a little more end loaded. Here is a link....

So I got a mine bat to check out and after swinging with it for about a week here are my thoughts.

Soft Touch finish is unreal. Probably my favorite part about this bat. Feels amazing, really comfortable. Really makes the visual aspect of the bat pop. It really is a work of art. Unreal finish the pictures you see online don't do it justice.

The European Beech plays a lot like birch. I fell in love with birch when I first got a b45 because of the flex aspect that you got with ash with some of the hardness of maple. However I always felt like birch was soft if that makes sense. When you hit the ball it was harder then ash but also softer. You don't get that loud crack when you hit the ball like you would with maple. Well this European Beech is the best of both worlds. Flex like ash but the ball comes off it just like maple. I got the potenza which is the 356 model. The handle is thicker then a LS 356 but I like that. Balance and weight are perfect.

You can look at Gabbys posts for the technicial details. I don't know too much about the nitty gritty of density ect. I just know what feels good in my hands and I'm in love.

I don't know about the durability, but I'm sure like all wood bats it will break at some point. However the quality and workmanship is unmatched.

I would recommend checking one out if you get the opportunity. Take advantage of Gabbys discounts and any specials Mine is offering. I am glad I did.

Wow! What a great analysis! Thanks, and it's nice to know someone with experience at higher levels thinks so highly.

Imagine how nice a bone-rubbed Mine bat is gonna feel!

Potenza arrived today...33.5", -2 with the Soft Touch finish.

While we are by know means "the bat authority", we know a quality product when we see it!

The Soft Touch finish is incredible...love it, love it, love it!
Workmanship and overall finish...Superb!

The handle is a bit thinner than what I am used to, but the balance is excellent....will post more after my son has a few swings in the cage.

Stay tuned for more feedback..

Are any of the models similar to a C331?

Actually we do. It is the Taormina - which is a lot like the C331/280. Here is a link: http://minebats.com/products/taormina

Here is a picture:

The Taormina is the black bat on the right, while Wake's Potenza is on the left. The Taormina has a thin barrel and a pronounced flared knob. Very balanced bat.

Another good story regarding MINE bats - I somehow managed to win a free bat raffle on Facebook - first time Facebook has ever been a good thing to have haha.

Anyway, on top of that, they gave me a discount code to distribute - I have no idea how long it will be active, but might as well give it a shot if you are interested: "joe20"

Should give 20% off. Good luck!

Gabe,

I was hoping to see one in action for Italy during the wbc. Could they not use them since it was a mlb sanctioned tournament?

What is rattling inside the handle of my MINE Cagliari? I took of the sticker but couldn't find anything. It doesn't feel broke.

It's not broken - that rattling is the chip that is in the little hole under the sticker. It's the size of a grain of rice, and we have had that complaint before. It's been considered not putting the chip in there, but the information is really important. It can all be collected from the ID# on each bat, but the chip feature is something the original run bats already have. It's a little annoying, but shouldn't affect the performance of the bat at all.

Not as badly as we were! You are correct. Most of those guys use Mine bats anyway, and one of my goals is having Anthony Rizzo swinging our sticks. I have made some cool contacts with some big guys, and it is going to be REALLY interesting when we are approved. That's when the real fun begins!
