That's one hell of a run-on sentence and it's difficult to comprehend, but I'll do my best.

This was a "prediction" thread, not an after the season make your choices because you already know the results thread. I'm not sure what you mean when you say the Braves were swept by the Phils. This season, the Braves won 7 and the Phillies won 10. I don't think it's a secret that the Phillies were playing great baseball over the last couple of weeks of the season, while the Braves were not.

Just a few things to mention because you brought it up. Check baseball reference for verification.

Other than Halladay's gem and history making no hitter, he has never been in the postseason. The guy should be in the AL.

Hamels is 12-11 this year. One game over .500. On a team with the best record in baseball at that. That's what you consider "dominate"? I don't think many baseball analysts would use the word dominate and Hamels in the same sentence. At least none that have a job that pays better than monopoly money.

First off it's Oswalt not Oswald. Oswalt has not been in a playoff situation since 2005. In 2005, he pitched 27.1 postseason innings and gave up 10 earned runs, walked 11 and had 22 K's. The WS game where he faced the AL hitters, he went 6 innings, gave up 5 ER's, walked 5 which gives him a postseason ERA of 7.50 vs. AL teams. Basically he had two good performances vs the Cards that postseason. A cards team that hit a wall that series, if you remember correct. Personally when I think of good playoff numbers, I think of someone not named Oswalt.

Next season, make your predictions in March.

I'll go ahead and make a prediction for next year.

Cliff Lee will be a NEW YORK YANKEE!

Hahaha yes. Burnett had his moments (GM 2 WS) but I think he might have hit a wall.

Phillies are the team to beat and as a Yankees fan I can say that with confidence....Other than Rivera, the Phillies are stronger in virtually all aspects....

Pitching: Their ace is better and their number 3 starter was their ace when they won it all...

Offense: About as sound and complete as it gets... Watching Victorino steal 3rd was a thing of beauty... Conversely, watching Swisher try to execute a bunt was brutal... Phillies have the speed, patience, and power in that lineup..

Defense: Phillies all day...

The NL Central will be a whole lot closer this year than it has been in the past and will be very fun to watch!

Every year it's the same thing in the AL Central. Everyone picks Detroit or Chicago and every year the Twins win the Central. (and then get swept by the yankees)
