Well, looks like I will be missing this great event. Work beckons (as it usually does when you want to do something cool and have two businesses). I hope someone takes LOTS of pictures. Have fun guys, I'll be there in spirit.

Well, I think I am going to try and make this event. I have a business meeting from October 11th with a return flight on Friday, October 14th. I may be able to fly in on the 14th.

Will have a better idea tomorrow evening.

Depending on how things go, things are leaning more towards my attendance of this event.

Can my parents come along, though? They want nothing to do with the conference, but they want to see the HOF. This will make things a LOT easier for me driving, and if they can come along, it would be about 60/40 right now on whether I come or not.

Take me off the list of attendees, please. Things aren't lining up the way I'd hoped unless I win the lottery or something.

Make sure to take lots of pictures! I was really hoping to meet you all, too...

Momentum is building and details are emerging for this event.

HOF Gloves
- Depending on several factors, such as how mature we appear (haha), we may each be able to have "first hand" access to these remarkable gloves from the HOF Permanent Collection. This may include wearing a latex protective glove and then being allowed to hold, touch, smell each glove up close.
- Here's a short list of gloves: Pat Venditte's ambidextrous glove, the 1957 Wilson A2000 model that revolutionized glove design, game-used gloves by Ryan Sandberg, Orlando Cabrera, Torii Hunter, Edgardo Alfonzo, Mike Bordick, and Wes Parker.
- One of the most amazing gloves I have ever seen will be included: Wade Boggs "Elephant Ear" glove. He called it that due to the rough, cracked texture of the surface. The glove was used during his career from 1982 to 1999. The patch work and restoration work on this glove is absolutely incredible and has to be seen up close to believe.

Details
- Please bring gloves! Make this your event and contribute. Contribute by showing off your unique gloves, play catch with your gamer, buy/sell/trade with fellow GWF members.
- The HOF is a non-profit and can't be involved with a retail event. So don't come into the HOF with price tags and a cash register. However, once we exit the HOF and play catch in the park outside then it's a free country and capitalism can reign!
- There are five people on the line-up as speakers so far. Details to come.
- Everyone is welcome, however, we may need to restrict some parts, such as the access to HOF gloves and raffle winners, to those members who have posted on this thread by October 13th. Please post your attendance as soon as you can.
- The event begins at 1pm. The Museum open at 9am. If you want to come before the event so that you can spend time going through the Museum you can enter as early as 11am and only pay the $10 event fee which will also give you access to the Museum. If you want to arrive earlier (between 9am and 11am) you will have to pay the standard Museum admission fee of $19.50 which will include this event.
- The HOF has never done such an event on gloves and they are excited. HOF staff attendance may rival GWF member attendance.
- The HOF will be taking photos and writing about the event on their blog. The Atlantic Magazine will have a writer there working on a story as well.

This sounds great and I was hoping to attend. Unfortunately I had a client reschedule a photo shoot for the 15th. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for the articles though.

My son, Nate, and I cannot wait for this event.
There are several new exhibits in museum that we have not yet had a chance to see, so this will be a really special trip to the HOF for us.

Anyone coming from NH, MA or VT? JC can't make it and we were planning on carpooling. I'll have room in the S4 for a passenger and maybe one more glove or two....

Trying my best to be there folks.......................also trying to decide which gloves to bring...hmmmmmm

Just kidding, Wake. Well sorta just kidding. Looking forward to seeing a lot of neat gloves, - both in the Hall of Fame and from forum members.
